Chopard
It all began in 1860 in the small village of Sonvilier, Switzerland. Here Louis-Ulysse Chopard, a talented young watchmaker, established his workshop. By virtue of their precision and reliability, his watches quickly gained a solid reputation among enthusiasts and found buyers as far afield as Eastern Europe, Russia and Scandinavia
Under the impetus of the Scheufele family who bought the company, Chopard experienced spectacular development. Renowned for its creativity, its state-of-the-art technology and the excellence of its craftsmen, it became one of the world’s leading names in the high-end watch and jewellery industry and now produces the beautiful frames and sunglasses that you see here
All Chopard frames are made in yellow, white or rose 23 carat gold plate. All of the acetate components are hand-made and polished and the stones are set in a collar to ensure security. The ‘Happy Diamonds’ in the side casing on some of the frames means that the stones are free to move and sparkle. All Chopard frames have a three year no quibble guarantee
Chopard sunglasses can be seen on film stars and celebrities and it was a Chopard sunglass that set the record for the most expensive pair in the world at $408,000 (about £250,000). The ones here are much more reasonable but are still exclusive and fabulous
